1. Raat(1992)

The Sharma family re-locate to a semi-urban locality in a house that has a "reputation". The Sharma family consists of Mr. Sharma (Akash Khurana), his wife Shalini Sharma (Rohini Hattangadi), only daughter Manisha Sharma (Revathi) or "Mini" as they affectionately call her; and their grandchild Bunty (Master Ateet), as his parents had been killed in an accident. Strange things start happening, with a return of a dead kitten, and the brutal murder of Manisha's friend, Reshmi (Jaya Mathur); an attempt to kill Mr. Sharma and Manisha's boyfriend, Deepak (Kushant). What is the force behind these brutalities? Is it natural or supernatural?

2. Woh Kaun Thi? (1964)

Anand was a well-known, well-respected doctor. One dark and stormy night, he met a young woman at the side of the road. He gave her a ride. She asked to be dropped off at a graveyard. There, she disappeared singing a love song, "Naina Barse." Anand began to hear that song more and more often. His mother arranged a marriage for him. His bride was the very woman he dropped off at the graveyard! Woh kaun thi?

3. Bhoot(2003)

Manjeet Khosla lives with her widowed mom in Bombay, India. She gets married, gives birth to a son, and separates from her spouse. She goes to live on the 12th floor of an apartment building. Thereafter, she has an affair with Sanjay Thakkar, who is the son of the building Secretary. Shortly thereafter, she and her son fall down from their balcony and die. The building watchman testifies that Manjeet was depressed and suicidal. The apartment remains vacant for sometime, and then eventually new tenants, Vishal and his wife, Swati, move in. Vishal finds out about Manjeet's untimely death but keeps this information from Swati. When Swati finds out she is displeased with Vishal, but her anger dissolves quickly. Then Swati starts sleep-walking, leading Vishal to have her medically examined. After she recovers, she claims to see Manjeet in her apartment, as well as behaves strangely. Then the building watchman gets killed by having his neck and head turned backwards. Police Inspector Liyaqat Quereshi is assigned this case and initially questions Thakkar and Vishal. He keeps vigil on the apartment and finds out about Swati's sleep-walking habits and starts to suspect her. He also finds out that Swati is suffering from multiple personality disorder. Then Vishal asks Sarita, a psychic, for help - to which she agrees - and it is through her assistance that Vishal will find out that Manjeet did not kill herself, but she and her young son were killed and then thrown from the 12th floor of the building. The question remains: Who killed Manjeet, and what is the dead woman's connection with Swati and her ailments

4. Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche (1972)

Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche is a 1972 Hindi horror film directed by Tulsi Ramsay. In this movie, a rich young scientist rescues a woman and marries her, only to have her and her uncle murder him for his money... but he returns as a zombie, because his experiments involved raising the dead.

5. Purana Mandir (1984)

Suman lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her widower dad, Thakur Ranvir Singh, and an unmarried aunt, Damyanti, in a palatial house in Bombay. They are direct descendants of Raja Hariman Singh of Bijapur. When Ranvir finds out that Suman is in love with a middle-classed male, Sanjay, he expresses displeasure and forbids her to ever see him again. When she persists, he tells her that there is a curse on the entire family - a curse that was inflicted 200 years ago by a blood-thirsty, flesh-eating demon named Samri. This curse impacts only women in their family, who are hideously transformed after giving birth to their firstborn, and die a painful death. Treating this as mere superstitious, Suman and Sanjay, along with Sanjay's friend, Anand and his wife, Sapna, set out to Bijapur to unearth and put an end to this rumor - not knowing that soon they will resurrect a virtually indestructible Samri - who is out to kill the remainder of the Singh family before wrecking havoc on the region and it's inhabitants.

6. Veerana (1988)

After the sudden death of her dad, Sameer, and mom, Preeti, Sahila goes to live with her grandmother and cousin in Bombay. Years later, now fully matured, she returns home to Chandanagar to live with her uncle, Mahendra Pratap, and cousin, Jasmin. This is where she will be exposed to a resurrected evil witch, Nikita, who has manifested herself in the body of Jasmin. Aided by a priest named Baba, she is determined to kill each and everyone of the remainder of the Pratap family members. And there is no known power on Earth that can stop Nikita.

7. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

When U.S.-based Siddharth visits his Indian home town with his new wife, he insists they stay at the ancestral home, laughing off family members' warnings of ghostly goings-on in the mansion. 8. 13B: Fear Has a New Address (2009)

In today's world, the major source of relief, information and entertainment is the TV. So much so, that it has moved up from its modest position of being just another 'household appliance' to actually determining the power equation in a family. It is easy to identify the hierarchy in the family depending on who controls the remote control. So what happens when the TV realizes this power and begins to take control? What happens when instead of showing you the facts, the TV, begins to show you what it wants you to see? What happens when Manohar, to his great horror, realizes that this is exactly what is happening with his wonderful family, who has just moved into their sweet new home at 13B.

9. Mahal (1949)

Hari Shankar (Ashok Kumar) comes to claim his inheritance - a palatial building known as Shabnam Mahal. He does not see anything out of the normal, until he sees his portrait on the wall. The housekeeper tells him the background of the portrait and the tragic ending of two lovers. Later, Hari Shankar sees a woman singing and swinging in the garden swing, when he approaches, she disappears. Both the housekeeper and his lawyer friend, Shrinath, warn Hari Shankar, and ask him to stay away from this house, he does so, only to be drawn back. No one can help Hari Shankar now as he continues to be drawn deeper and deeper into the dark world of the ghostly apparition. "Ayega.. ayega... aanewala, aayega...." is still popular on radio and tapes/cd.

10. Bees Saal Baad (1962)


After a lusty Thakur rapes a young girl, she kills herself. Thereafter, the Thakur is killed by what the local people call the girl's vengeful spirit. Then the Thakur's son is also killed in a similar way. Thereafter the brother of the Thakur is also killed. The grandson of the Thakur, Kumar Vijay Singh (Biswajeet) returns from abroad to claim his ill-fated legacy. He is warned to stay away from the grounds that have killed his ancestors, but he intends to find out who or what is behind the killings, and hires a private detective, Gopichand Jasoos (Asit Sen). Kumar meets with Radha (Waheeda Rehman), the daughter of the local doctor, Ramlal Vaid (Manmohan Krishan), and both eventually fall in love. Then a man is found dead wearing the clothes of Kumar Vijay. In the meanwhile, Gopichand sees and follows a servant Laxman to the terrace, where he is seen flashing a lantern. Gopichand tells Kumar
